About the destination and the area
We will be staying in Peniche, a world-renowned surf mecca known for its powerful waves and raw nature.
We have rented the entire Silver Seahorse – Garden Retreat by the Sea, completely to ourselves. This is an intimate, family-owned oasis with a personal atmosphere. It features a large, lush garden with an outdoor pool, jacuzzi, and sauna, as well as a cozy pool bar and common areas where we can gather after our activities. The retreat is located just a short walk down to the beautiful sandy beach, Praia da Consolação, where we can surf, among other activities. Here, you will also find authentic seafood bistros and cozy beach bars. The area is famous for having the absolute freshest seafood in the country!
To loosen up stiff kite muscles and help your nervous system wind down into true holiday mode, we have included 2 yoga and 2 Qigong sessions. You can also add more of these sessions, as well as massages and Pilates, at an affordable price.
Lagoa de Óbidos is where we will primarily be kitesurfing. This is Portugal’s largest and most beautiful coastal lagoon. With over 6 kilometers of crystal-clear, shallow, and flat water, it is a paradise for both beginners and experienced riders. Reliable thermal winds blow fdom the north/northwest through large parts of the season.
The Silver Coast is the region we will be exploring. It is a diverse area offering everything from dramatic cliffs to charming fishing villages. Among other highlights, we will visit Nazaré, famous for its gigantic waves, enjoy a delicious dinner in the medieval town of Óbidos, and take a boat trip to the Berlengas Islands—one of Portugal's hidden natural gems—for snorkeling in turquoise waters and exploring caves. We will also visit the historical Quinta do Sanguinhal winyard for wine tasting and food.
